This project includes four works titled 'Value' and they talk about how values are shown in different categories and why are they important.

‘凡’ 簡
This is a project about the value of traditional Chinese words and I used wood carving to represent the historical context of traditional Chinese words, nails to present the destroying of simplified Chinese words, and threads to represent the fragile of the culture of simplified Chinese words. Under the threads shower the simplified versions of the words, there are traditional Chinese words carved on the wooden board. This is showing how the value of a transition be neglected or destroyed by people nowadays.

Learn From Regrets
For this project, I have done nine interviews with nine different people including secondary teachers, a designer, a policeman, social workers, a secondary student, a kindergarten child, and a forensic investigator. They shared their stories of regrets to me and I drew their story on man-made skins, which used for tattoo practice, representing their regrets became lessons in their lives. Also, I carved each of their faces on colour pencils which presenting them. Then I burnt a part of each colour pencils like burning matches and draw their faces on the tops. This is a metaphor of learning from the past to write the futures.

Concrete Culture
The third project is talking about how traditional arts survive in concrete jungles like Hong Kong, so I used neon light to make the flower on the cement cactus. It is more like an installation for people to look at as a form of an auction sale, meaning the preciousness of the traditional arts.

Everyone Shines
This final work is to show that everyone shines on their stages, doing what they enjoy to do and feeling delighted. I took photos of different people on the street focusing on their favourite works, and I then drew a little 'stage' for each of them. It presents like a 3D storybook which I wanted to show how wonderful when people are enjoying their moments, like a fairytale. Everyone is the star in their lives and shines in their ways.
